War, what is it good for? Absolutely something....when it led to the defeat of Natzi's and extremist Japanese Shintoism. There was a point in WW2 when 300 GI's were being killed per day. Think Roosevelt should have been hung?
Come on now! War IS hell, I served in Vietnam and know this all to well.

War, when fought for honorable, clearly defined reasons is a necessity, unfortunately. In WWII we were fighting a direct threat to the U.S.. In Iraq, who knows? Do they hate us? Yep. Do they wish us dead? Yep again. Does that give us the right to impose our will upon them? Not so sure, but I agree that it is now imperitive that we do NOT just pull out; if we do, guess who waltzes in? Iran, who I feel has always been a much larger threat than Iraq ever was. We invaded Iraq because we believed they MIGHT have nukes or be developing them. With Iran, the entire world knows they have active nuclear technology and may be very close to having a bomb. If we had to invade somebody, I think we chose the wrong target.

Amen! I believe LOTS of Iraq's support us there if only we could take care of business. There was a time not long ago when Sadar was just a Thug with 2 bodyguards. But we allowed him to gain strength to over 12,000 radical well-armed supporters. Next time the president of Iran gives a speech, he should eat a cruise missle...but noooooooo!
We could win all that if our politicians had the balls of our brave soldiers and not bow to world opinion! Give Sadar City 24hr warning, then bomb it to rubble. The "street" in Iraq respects strength, not political "correctness"
